Cool Sips for Hot Days (or, How to Drink More Water)

I have a hard time drinking the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. Or at least I did until I started making this drink:

All you do is take fresh mint (which I have growing in abundance in my garden):

Put the mint in a container filled with water, and add in some lemon juice.

Give it a little shake, and there you go. The great thing about this "recipe" is that you can totally make it to your taste. Put as much or as little lemon juice in as you want; decide how many mint leaves you'd like in it.

The longer it sits, the more the flavor comes out (especially the mint). So if you really want to taste the flavors, I recommend keeping two of these going at one time. One to drink from, and one that's steeping. ;)

Drink up, and enjoy being healthy!

(And to make your water-drinking experience extra fun, print out these cute water-drinking checklists from How About Orange. I keep mine on the fridge).

  1. Great idea! And those printable 8 glasses pages - well I'll be printing off some of those. Living in a hot and humid climate even I sometimes struggle with the 8 glasses things - wish I didn't.

  2. Oh this is a super idea! We have mint growing in the garden and I always have lemons on hand for baking. Now just need a cute container for the fridge!

And those are the perfect glasses!

  4. This looks delicious! I am terrible at drinking enough water during the day and have to try this. I have chocolate mint. I wonder how it will taste? Thanks for the recipe!

  5. Hi! thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm your newest follower!
This looks so refreshing. I'll have to try this tomorrow. (I have the lemon and mint , but need to buy a cucumber.... wish I had one growing in my yard.)
You asked about my pie birds. I found them at various little shops. I've seen some really cute ones at my local antique shop, but they want an arm and a leg for theirs.
